HOPWA Project-Based Housing Program
The HOPWA Project-Based Housing Program is part of the Housing Opportunities for Persons With AIDS (HOPWA) initiative funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
The program provides project-based rental assistance to low-income individuals and families affected by HIV/AIDS, aiming to ensure stable and supportive housing options. Through partnerships with local housing agencies and community organizations, HOPWA assists eligible participants by subsidizing rent in designated housing facilities where they are also assigned a housing case manager for linkage to support services like healthcare, counseling, and case management. This holistic approach addresses both housing stability and health needs, contributing to improved health outcomes and quality of life for individuals living with HIV/AIDS.
